I hope all of you had a good and safe holiday! Some of our friends in
the
Midwest had freezing temperatures and were trying to save gardens and
plants
from the cold. Others had planned outdoor dinners but may have been
forced inside due to the temperatures. Our northern friends were hit
hard
too from what I understand, so hope all has fared well for them today
despite
the weather conditions.

1. New pages of molds added to our site:
_______________________________________________________________________
The
new artwork is complete and had been updated on the site for the
gargoyle, German shepherd, dancing coy fish molds. These molds can be
found
on the concrete, plaster, bench, and food grade mold pages for the most
part.
Several new chocolate and soap molds have also been uploaded on the
site this
week. A martial arts fist, Kwanzaa on a map of Africa, and Kinara (Kwanzaa
candles)
chocolate molds are part of that list. Also a mold to make chocolate
pizza
slices which is popular at the local chocolate shop here in Tucson.
.......................................................................
Our
brand new program for Monogrammed Soap and Chocolate bar molds was
completed this week. We have two sizes of soap molds and one size of
chocolate mold so far with two sizes of the Brush Script font so we
can
make the middle letter on the molds larger as is usual on most
monogrammed items. We can also do numbers if you want a bar mold with
your
favorite race car numbers on it or if you want them to be for a scout
troop,
school number or other use. You could also have your stock ticker letters
on the bars if they are doing particularly well for you right now :-)
Up to 3 letters or numbers can be put on the molds at this time. Three
letter
names can also be done, like Jon, Dan, Bob (you get the picture :-)
Strangely
enough, this gives us almost 280,000 possible combinations in soap and
chocolate molds. If you have ever priced what monogrammed bars with
only one
letter on them or even two cost, then you know paying only $12.95 for
a two cavity
custom mold (each cavity can have a different letter combination in
it)
is a fantastic deal considering you can then cast as many bars as you
want.
Great for a wedding, anniversary, birthday or other event gifts.

For the Monogrammed Chocolate bar go to:

More
sizes, shapes, and fonts will be added in the future depending on how
this works out.

2. New navigation layout on the web site using thumbnail images.
_______________________________________________________________________
Navigation
on a web site is one of the most important components to making
it all work. One of the issues of having a large site with lots of
pages for different items creates is how to handle making it easy to
get
around. I for one like to be able to do a quick visual for interesting
links
that may be of interest. The problem was how to do this without making
it
difficult for download time on those still on slower Internet connections.
I found
a way to make the job easier to convert lots of images at one time
to thumbnails and rename them so I can find them to post next to the
items
link on the pages for that line of molds. I spent a great deal of time
building this over the last couple of weeks so it would be a lot easier
to
get around on the site. I also wasn't fond of just endless lines of
text links
on the navigation pages, and wanted the lines to be separated more to
make it
a lot easier to find things. Having search on the site is helpful, but
nothing
beats being able to quickly scan a page for interesting things to check
out.

3. Soon to be posted
_______________________________________________________________________
This
week I am finally getting started on posting the new pattern sheets
and
molds for the PMC and Polymer Clay section of the site. Hope to have
that up
before next weekend if all goes well.
.......................................................................
Packaging
for the new soap and chocolate bars is coming up next. I also hope
to have the existing packaging I make for our standard sized custom
bars up
on the site.
.......................................................................
More
information on custom molds will also be added to the site soon. Our
site at http://www.customsweets.com will basically be transferred over
to the new
site as part of the plan to cut down on work on other sites.

4. The Community Forum and Flagstone Project by Wayne update
_______________________________________________________________________
I would
like to invite you to join the forum and add your experience and ideas
to
share with our sites visitors. If you have new categories you would
like to suggest,
please feel free to do so. My intentions are to use the Community Forum
as a
resource for Questions and Answers to molding and casting questions.
The
new pictures are now up on the site for the Flagstone project that
Wayne has completed. This is a must see at
http://www.moldwarehouse.com/flagstone_project.html

5. In the works
_______________________________________________________________________
Concrete
pigments are on the way. I have the packaging done and labels
ready for them too. All that remains is getting pictures of the pigments
and getting all the information onto the site for each one. Our site
will be
selling small quantities to fit just about any project, but we will
also
support a separate site for bulk pigment sales for the large concrete
contractors in the Southwest and California areas. This is kind of exciting
building a dealership in an area I have my heart into.
.......................................................................
Not
sure how long this will take yet, as funds are still limited as well
as time.
Bench leg molds will be up next. I am also working on mold designs for
planters
and for tree rings. Splash Blocks will also be coming up soon. They
will be a
lot more decorative than the usual splash blocks on the market today.

6. Helping us grow
_______________________________________________________________________
One
of the many things I have the capability of doing is making magnetic
signs for vehicles. I made some simple magnetic strips with www.moldwarehouse.com
on
a few and I put them on my truck as well as my daughters car and her
husbands truck so far.
They are around 3" X 24" in size and just white with blue
or black letters. If you think you
would like to help us out with our advertising some and have room to
put a magnetic strip like
that on the back of your vehicle, let me know.
