Q.
How long does it take to manufacture the molds I order and get them
shipped?
A.
The industrial machinery I use to manufacture the molds you order
is very unique in design. It allows me to make one unique mold at
a time but to also do almost continuos production since the setup
time is almost non existent between molds. If I am running the same
size sheets of plastic for a series of molds, I don't have to shut
down to set up new molds to be made. When changing sizes of plastic
to the next series, the frame changes for clamping the plastic is
very minimal, with more time spent pre warming the next frame than
actually making the change. To answer the question more directly,
all normal orders are completed within one or two business days and
some larger orders may take longer just depending on the amount and
type of mold being made. Shipping is via Priority Mail with delivery
confirmation on all boxes so that usually only takes a couple days
to make destination. If my work load is high, it may take me a day
or so longer to complete orders, but at times I even ship out on the
same or next day the order is received.
Q.
How many times can I use the molds to make concrete parts with?
A.
Our molds are pretty durable, and some customers have used our molds
for several years on a weekly basis. It really depends more on the
person using them, and the care they take of them during casting and
cleaning and storing them. If you are needing a mold for industrial
use, as in daily production by work crews, please contact me using
the Contact Form and inquire about extra
heavy duty molds being made from our mold designs.
Q.
What concrete mix do I use for casting in your molds?
A.
We send out a general sheet of information in all boxes shipped, but
you can also see that information here Concrete
Mold Use and Care
Q.
Where can I get color for my concrete castings?
A.
Most places you get your concrete supplies from will carry
color you can use. You can also paint your concrete castings with
oil based paints and some latex exterior paints once the pieces are
cured and dry.
